Dalby Forest is a forest located on the southern slopes of the North York Moors National Park in North Yorkshire, England. It is maintained by the UK Forestry Commission. Dalby Forest, along with Langdale Forest and Cropton Forest, forms part of the North Riding Forest Park. Found within the North York Moors National Park there are several car parks, a ‘forest drive’ throughout the forest, hiking trails and mountain bike trails (some start from the main visitor centre, others from Dixons Hollow, an area a little further along the forest drive). A toll is charged to enter the forest by car, although parking is free. The main visitor centre has a café and shop, which is adjacent to a selection of other businesses including a bike shop and various craft workshops. You can easily spend a full day within the forest stopping off at various walks and viewpoints. Our particular favourite walk is the Bridestones which takes in some spectacular scenery and the children love to climb the Bridestones.
There are 3 outdoor concerts planned for Dalby Forest in 2016. Guy Garvey will perform on Friday 24th June 2016 followed by John Newman on Saturday 25th June 2016 and Sunday 26th of June 2016 Kaiser Chiefs. Full details of the concerts and to book please visit www.forestry.gov.uk or call the box office on 03000680400.
